Classic Salsa Sundays is Tampa's monthly celebration of authentic Salsa cultura — held every first Sunday, 3 to 7 PM, at 809 Restaurant & Lounge, 3710 W Waters Ave, Tampa, FL. No cover charge. No pretense. Just the real thing.

Do I need to know how to dance?
Not at all! We have a complimentary lesson from 3–3:30 PM with world-ranked instructor Jenny Marie. After that, it's all about feeling the music. Many of our regulars started as complete beginners.
Is there really no cover charge?
Really! We believe Salsa and cultura should be accessible to everyone. No cover, ever. 809 Lounge has a full menu of food and drinks to keep you going all afternoon.
When exactly does Classic Salsa Sundays happen?
Classic Salsa Sundays is every first Sunday of the month, 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at 809 Restaurant & Lounge, 3710 W Waters Ave, Tampa, FL 33614. The next event is Sunday, April 5, 2026.
Can I come alone?
¡Claro que sí! Many people come solo and leave with new friends. This is familia — we welcome everyone regardless of age, skill level, or background.
What's the age range?
All ages! We're multigenerational — from teens to abuelos. Everyone who loves classic Salsa is welcome.
What should I wear?
Come as you are. Comfortable clothes and shoes you can move in. Some people dress up, others keep it casual. Whatever makes you feel good.
Is food and drink available?
Yes! 809 Lounge has a full menu of authentic Latino cuisine, plus a full bar. You can enjoy real food all afternoon while you dance.
What if I don't speak Spanish?
You don't need to! We're a welcoming mix of Spanish speakers, English speakers, and everything in between. The music speaks for itself.
